My Journey into the World of Marketing

On September 30, 2016, all of us at TIK:TALK decided to go as a team to the State Fair of Texas Parade for a fun Friday midday activity to watch all the colorful floats, drill teams and many more entertainment, walking down the streets of downtown Dallas. It was a great way to kick off Friday by looking at all the marketing and the creativity of each entertaining float participating in the parade had to offer.

The most exciting part of the parade was seeing everyone so happy and having fun showing the Texas pride we know best for the kick off of the 130 year old State Fair opening day. One of my favorite parts of the parade was when the wheelie-ing Elvis performed, I thought it was really cool of them to stop and ride around for pictures to be taken. They sure did bring the fun by popping wheelies and posing like the real Elvis. Might have to say they were the most interactive group of the whole parade that got the attention of everyone watching. I also really enjoyed all of the creativity that went into the different kinds of floats. No float was the same and all varied from design, which was cool to see. A lot of them stuck with the colors of red, blue, and white with a touch of yellow and gold just to show off those Texas colors.

Then last week, we all went to the State Fair to have a fun day to do some more team bonding. At first we went through the 2016 State Fair Auto Show, stop to have a little chat with the Ford Robot to talk about TIK:TALK and showing off our t-shirts, while also enjoying the taste of the some Pumpkin Spice Beer. After touring through the Auto Fair, we continued to venture into the Taylor Swift Experience and got to see most of her elaborate outfits that she wore on stage, in her music videos and even got to see three of her awards that she has won in her career. By the time we made it to the midway, we stopped to get some food and ended up trying the Fried Jell-O, which won best taste at the fair this year, the Chicken Pot Pie Pocket with Mac ‘n Cheese Dip and the Deep Fried Bacon. All was really good and totally worth getting again. When we finished up eating all of our food, we took a trip down to the Chevrolet Ride and Drive and test drove multiple cars like the Silverado, the Cruze, and the Corvette. After our fun test driving the cars we headed to the shopping area to take a look at everything they had to offer. I have to say we all had a great day at the State Fair and telling everyone what TIK:TALK is all about.
